Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will reap sparingly; and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion - for God loves a cheerful giver. (2 Cor. 6-7)

THE SALESIAN MISSIONS

"Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will reap sparingly; and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion - for God loves a cheerful giver." (2 Cor. 6-7)

What gift can we give Jesus this Christmas? Gift giving is the order of the day. One of the preoccupations of everyone is "what gift" to give to family and friends.

What gift can we give Jesus this Christmas?
A message from Fr. Larry Tab, SDB

The SALESIAN MISSIONS Office of the Philippine North Province strives to cultivate and generate the necessary revenues to support the work of the Salesians in the Philippines and to continue the mission of Jesus Christ, the Good Shepherd, among the poor and abandoned youth in the Philippines North Province.

The Gift of Time
“There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven.” – Eccl. 3:1
Life is short. And so is our privilege to be stewards. Thus, it is essential that we compensate for the easily expendable amount of time in our hands with quality of its use. At the Salesian Missions, we encourage our fellow stewards to share a very special gift to others – their time. Our programs are diverse and require much time to develop them to full efficiency. Spend a day with the street children and helps us better understand their needs. Or perhaps take some time with our Intercessory Group for a moment of prayer for all people who comprise the Mission.

The Power of Talent
“I tell you that to everyone who has; more will be given; but as for the one who has nothing – even what he has will be taken away” – Luke 19:26
Each one of us has been blessed with unique talents. We must “break through the rock that imprisons it” and release the power of our knowledge and creativity that others may grow with it. The Salesian Mission programs are designed to professionalize stewardship. Therefore, we need your expertise, such as in the fields of business plan development, budgeting, advertising, special events organization and the like. Share your talents and empower others by doing so.

The Essence of Treasure
“No man should appear before the Lord empty handed. Each of you must bring a gift in proportion to the way the Lord your God has blessed you.” – Deut. 16:17
The core function of the Salesian Missions is to develop the spirit of stewardship and sharing of God’s blessings. You will be surprised how a little help can feed a hungry mouth, clothe a shivering child, provide education to a young mind, or give shelter to a lost soul. For the true essence of wealth is not in the acquiring, but in the sharing of one’s blessings. If we express gratitude for what we have – we will have more to express our gratitude for.
